To support the rapid recovery of Australian businesses, state governments have created a range of COVID-19 funding packages to coincide with the federal government schemes. As our passion is small to medium Australian businesses, we decided to create a list of the most relevant programs for SME’s broken-down state by state. Australian Capital Territory

Hospitality $1,000 electricity rebate

Hospitality businesses in the ACT are eligible for a one-off $1,000 rebate on electricity bills to ease financial obligations.

Canberra Business Advice and Support Service (CBASS)

ACT Businesses can receive up to 4 hours of tailored business advice.

Business Payroll Tax Deferral and Exemptions

The ACT Government has implemented a range of Payroll Tax relief incentives for businesses that have been impacted by COVID-19. The full list can be found here:

Export Assistance Grant

Financial support for businesses who are currently exporting, or were exporting prior to COVID-19, bushfires or drought.

Fee and license relief for NSW Businesses

A range of fee waivers and deferrals for are available for 12 months for NSW businesses across various industries, including hospitality and construction.

Northern Territory

Small Business Survival Payment

A one-off cash payment to businesses which have been affected by COVID-19 to support survival and recovery.

Small Business JobMaker Booster

This program provides an additional boost for employers who are part of the Federal Government’s JobMaker Scheme.  There are two Schemes, one for employers and one for Peak Industry Bodies.

Queensland

Small Business COVID-19 Adaption Grant Program

Round 2 of this program is open for Regional QLD businesses that have been impacted by COVID-19. The funding is designed to support businesses adapt and survive.

COVID-19 International Tourism Adaptation Grant

This program is similar to the Small Business COVID-19 Adaption Grant Program but designed specifically for tourism businesses impacted by the loss of international visitors.

Queensland Arts Showcase Program (QASP)

This program supports a range of arts projects for locally based artists, organisations and collectives.

Tourism Industry Development Fund

Funding to support South Australian Tourism Businesses to invest in new infrastructure to drive tourism to the state.
